"Where were you on September 11th?"

The events on September 11th were definitely strange ones... gas crises, families hurt, war scare, blame followed by racism... they were all there... but the statement, "Each individual person will forever be changed after what happened."... Fuck that. Frightened, confused, yes I was all of these the day of the plane crashes, maybe even the 12th and possibly 13th if you are lucky... but changed? No... Not at all. Everyone by now in the aftermath of all of this is back to their quiet lives. I am not including families effected by death or major injury... but most people... people from other towns with no one they knew directly being involved... Their lives were not impacted quote "forever".

The day of September 11th in my standpoint was yes very different... But the fact that I got out of a whole day of school to watch television... and got a free 2 hour break at my job to try to get gas with a friend... didn't really impact my life... it made it less stressful.

The days preceding made several Americans stoop lower than any terrorist when they began beating their local middle eastern friend because of a possibility of Afghani decent... American citizens from every corner of Asia felt a hard few days fighting off angry American people that wanted answer... and violence... I believe Afghanistan shouldn't be bothered anyways... They aren't the mental source behind the attacks.. Bin Ladin and the Teleban are... Should we blame the entire country of the United States because of the Unabomber? Finding and killing Bin Ladin, hell I don't care what the fuck they do with him... but Afghan citizens are casualties of a war they had nothing to do with... Unfair if you ask me.


Next what is with people selling the tragedy like they deserve money for exploiting it... American flags are hung everywhere you see... you can buy Sep. 11th plates and shirts... Those people aren't grieving on the death of so many people... they are making money... The price of the flag has probably doubled since the tragedy anyways...

If there is any way that an American was changed by the events on September 11th, it is that they became stupid, ruthless, and racist. We should learn from our mistakes and change in the fields of airport security, and interfering with other countries problems... That way we won't piss the next Bin Ladin off when he comes out of nowhere.
